Ask anything, anytime
Users ask questions in natural language — iBot responds with clear, grounded answers drawn from your Moodle content.
In a world of information overload, iBot turns your Moodle site into a trusted source of truth — giving users instant, reliable help exactly when tutors and support staff aren’t available.
Built for Moodle, iBot uses advanced semantic routing to find the right content, summarise long pages, and answer questions with citations — without ever exposing user data or your course content to the public.
iBot connects directly to your Moodle courses, resources, activities, and files. It understands meaning (not just keywords) and answers with citations, not guesses.

course outline on the subject and even generate a couple of questions.
iBot is there when staff can’t be — giving users and instructors a safe, trusted assistant inside Moodle.
Reduce repetitive questions and help desks while improving the user experience.
iBot is grounded in your Moodle. It doesn’t invent policies or deadlines.
See what users are struggling with — without exposing their individual data.
iBot supports multilingual interactions so users can ask questions and receive grounded answers in the language that works best for them.
iBot speaks your language. When you ask a question in any of the 80+ supported languages — from French and Arabic to Zulu and Afrikaans — iBot automatically detects what language you're using and understands your question fully. It finds the best answer from your course content, then responds back to you in the same language you wrote in. Course content is also pre-translated in the background, so responses feel fast and natural, no matter which language you choose.
Most learning platforms can only tell you that a page was opened - nothing more. iBot pays attention to how you actually engage with content: your reading pace, where you pause, and what you highlight or select. Together, these signals build a picture of your learning intent - whether you're working through something difficult, reviewing familiar material, or searching for a specific answer.
That understanding allows iBot to support you before you even need to ask, whether that's offering a clearer explanation, suggesting a related resource, or letting your instructor know where students need more help. And because reading is personal, everything iBot observes stays within your learning experience - no keystroke tracking, no monitoring outside the page you're studying - just a platform that works with you, not just for you.
Under the hood, iBot uses semantic routing and retrieval‑augmented generation to decide how best to answer each question — while keeping your data safe and private.
iBot ingests the courses and content you choose and builds a secure, private index — fully hosted and managed by iLite.
When a user asks a question, iBot’s semantic router works out what they really mean and where the best answer lives.
iBot composes a clear, user‑friendly answer — always with references back to Moodle.
iLite manages the platform for you — from updates and monitoring to ongoing quality checks.
Before deploying any AI assistant in a production learning environment, these are the right questions to ask. Here is exactly how iBot answers each one.
iBot is a hosted widget embedded in Moodle via a lightweight script block or iLite-managed plugin — there is no on-premise installation. iLite manages all hosting, maintenance, and updates, so your team handles none of it. SSO is not required; iBot reads your existing Moodle session and role context automatically.
iBot indexes only the courses and content you explicitly authorise. Embeddings are stored in iLite's private, managed vector store — your content never touches a public AI service. Deletion works in both directions: removing content from Moodle triggers removal from the iBot index. Nothing persists after you withdraw it.
Yes — this is a hard architectural constraint, not a configuration option. iBot enforces your Moodle enrolment boundaries at query time. A learner cannot retrieve content from a course they are not enrolled in. Groups, cohorts, and role-based visibility rules are all respected. No learner ever sees another learner's data.
Every answer iBot provides is grounded in your Moodle content and includes inline citations linking directly to the source page, book, or file. Learners always know where an answer came from. When confidence is low, iBot flags the uncertainty rather than presenting a guess as fact.
Yes. iBot uses a multi-layer routing architecture that classifies every query before the language model sees it. Queries outside your defined scope are intercepted and redirected — not answered. Optional general-knowledge web search is available but must be explicitly enabled by your administrator. Off-topic is not the default.
iBot is actively tested and maintained against current Moodle releases. Because iLite controls all hosting and updates, compatibility issues are resolved by iLite — not your team. If you are running Moodle 5.1 or 5.2, let us know during pilot setup and we will confirm the integration path for your specific environment.
Yes. Administrators and authorised teachers choose which courses, sections, and resources are indexed. Poorly structured or outdated content can be excluded before it affects answer quality. iLite provides content curation guidance as part of the pilot — because RAG quality depends directly on what you put in.
iBot does not access grades, submissions, personal messages, or any Moodle user profile data. Chat logs are stored privately within your iBot environment and used only for quality monitoring — never shared, never used to train public models. Aggregate analytics (topic frequency, common queries) are available to administrators without exposing individual student activity.

Only what you connect. iBot indexes the Moodle courses, forums, files, and activities you choose. It respects Moodle roles and enrolments for access, so users only see what they are meant to see.
No. iLite only offers iBot as a hosted and fully managed service. This lets us guarantee performance, keep the platform secure, and continuously improve answer quality.
No. No user data or searches are ever public. No client content or data is ever shared or made public. iBot operates within a secure, private environment managed by iLite.
iBot grounds answers in your Moodle content and shows citations for transparency. When confidence is low, it can ask clarifying questions, offer multiple options, or flag the query for human follow‑up — instead of guessing.
Yes. Users can ask questions and receive answers in multiple languages, and you can tailor iBot’s behaviour to cohorts and programmes.
